SASH WINDOW RESTORATION

Sash window repairs and draft proofing

At JTM Renovations, we pride ourselves on a sympathetic and considerate approach to restoring box sash windows. Sash windows in period properties are very important to the overall look and feel of the building. If the windows have fallen into disrepair the property can look unloved. Furthermore, failure to repair rotten sash windows can lead to additional and more serious problems caused by penetrating water.

Sometimes the original sash windows may have been replaced with modern windows that are not in keeping with the style and era of the building.

Double Glazing Sash Windows

Having your existing sash windows double glazed is easily done and provides a fantastic solution when you are looking to improve energy performance, save heat & reduce noise, But without loosing the charm and character of your house.

The dimensions of the existing sash windows are carefully measured and then replicated as closely as possible in our workshops. We take great care to copy all of the existing features, including any decorative horns so that your new sashes will fit in with the existing style of the other houses in your street.

The thickness of the double glazed unit that we can fit will depend on the thickness of the existing sashes. We fit low-e thermal glass as standard in all of our windows to enhance the thermal performance of the windows along with the Draft-proofing system that we employ. The Draft proofing is also very effective in reducing sound.
